How to Help

Nearly 250,000 Americans and their families, friends, and caregivers live each day with the challenges of Spina Bifida. The Spina Bifida Association (SBA) depends upon the support of the public to ensure that it can continue to serve, strengthen, and enrich the lives of those with Spina Bifida and those who love them through research, prevention, education, and advocacy.

There are many ways to make a difference most notably through participation in advocacy, financial contributions, and volunteering. Your contribution can help change lives.

SBA’s Legislative Action Center serves as the hub of all legislative efforts within the organization. Sign up today to receive SBA Action Alerts and be a part of every effort to achieve funding and support for those with Spina Bifida.

Through financial contributions, SBA is able to maintain and develop programs and services that benefit the Spina Bifida community. Funding is used to promote the importance of folic acid and its link to a significant reduction in Neural Tube Defects.

Volunteering time and expertise is another way you can positively impact SBA. Volunteers are the backbone upon which SBA was built and will continue to grow. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your local SBA Chapter.

Like government support, contributions from our corporate partners strengthen SBA and help to raise awareness of Spina Bifida. Whether through a workplace giving program or sponsorship of events and programs, your company’s support can help to not only achieve and maximize your marketing goals but also strongly benefit SBA.
