Tell Your Spina Bifida Story and Help Our Community

At the heart of the challenges faced by the Spina Bifida community are compelling accounts that can be the key to positive change. Imagine our policy makers working more effectively for you motivated by the compelling story of you, their constituent. Now is the time to share your story of living with Spina Bifida to ensure your member of Congress is working on behalf of your needs and those of the Spina Bifida community.

Tell your story and make a real difference by submitting it to the My Spina Bifida Story project. SBA will then share your stories on our visits to Capitol Hill in a continued effort to advocate improving the quality of life for the 185,000 Americans living with the challenges of Spina Bifida.

Email your story to Amanda Darnley, Director of Communications and Marketing, at adarnley@sbaa.org by May 15. Please be sure to include the following:

  1. Full Name
  2. Zip Code
  3. Choose from 1 of the 2 Subject Headings:
How I Overcame a Challenge Related to Spina Bifida
My Greatest Challenge in Living with Spina Bifida Today
  4. Entries should be 500 words or less.
  5. Digital photographs are welcomed and can be attached to your email.
