If you are on Facebook or Twitter, sign up to become friends with SBA. By supporting 4b4the4th, you will receive updates about Spina Bifida, and SBA's various programs. Fill out form below to become a team captain and have your name added to the donation form. Make your donation of $4.44, $14.44, $44.44, $444.44, or more before the 4th of July (Get it? Four before the 4th!). Then ask 4, 14, 44 or 444 friends to do the same.
What will your $4 provide?
- If you recruit 4 people to each donate $4.44, you will provide enough folic acid for one year to reduce the risk of one woman having a child born with Spina Bifida.
- If you recruit 14 people to each donate $4.44, at least 14 people affected by Spina Bifida will receive vital information and referrals through SBA's National Resource Center.
- If you recruit 44 people to each donate $4.44, a child with Spina Bifida can spend one day at KIDS!Camp…a magical place that allows kids with Spina Bifida to just be kids.
- If you recruit 444 people to each donate $4.44, we can continue vital research for the 166,000 Americans living with Spina Bifida.

4b4the4th is a campaign to raise awareness and much needed funding for Spina Bifida. By reaching out to thousands of friends, families, and co-workers linked through various online social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, each of us can do our part to increase knowledge and support for the Spina Bifida cause.

WHAT IS SPINA BIFIDA?
Spina Bifida is the most frequently occurring permanently disabling birth defect. It occurs when a baby's spine fails to close during the first month of pregnancy leaving an opening or lesion on the spinal column. Every day about eight babies born in the United States have Spina Bifida or a similar birth defect of the brain and spine.
