2026 Spina Bifida Clinical Care Meeting

The Spina Bifida Clinical Care Meeting brings together clinicians and care teams from across the country who share one goal: improving the lives of people living with Spina Bifida.

Whether you work in neurology, urology, rehabilitation, nursing, social work, or another discipline, this meeting is your opportunity to:

  • Exchange ideas with experts and peers who understand the complexities of multidisciplinary care for people with Spina Bifida.
  • Explore real-world strategies for care coordination, quality improvement, and patient-centered outcomes.
  • Gain insight into lifespan careโ€”from pediatrics through adulthood and aging.
  • Hear directly from diverse individuals living with Spina Bifida to better understand their experiences and priorities.

Call for Demonstration Posters

Spina Bifida Clinical Care Meeting attendees* are invited to submit abstracts for demonstration posters to showcase emerging ideas, service delivery models, and advocacy efforts related to Spina Bifida. 

Poster content: Demonstration posters should focus on novel techniques and/or technologies rather than on scientific data, and feature quality improvement efforts and outcomes,  innovation in care, or clinical processes. 

Abstract format: To ensure fair comparisons across submissions, abstracts should include:

  • Background/Objectives: Briefly introduce the issue and state the posterโ€™s objectives. 
  • Description: Summarize the key information presented in the poster.
  • Significance: Explain why the information matters, noting any innovative aspects and potential future directions or qualityโ€‘improvement opportunities.
  • Resources: Include at least three relevant references.

Review:

  • The SBCCM Planning Committee will review and select poster abstracts based on innovation and potential impact on Spina Bifida clinical care.
  • Student/trainee status will not influence scoring.
  • *Authors of accepted posters must register/be registered for the SBCCM. They will qualify for earlyโ€‘bird pricing regardless of the official earlyโ€‘bird cutoff date.

Poster submission format:

  • Use ePoster format or a PowerPoint format. 

Poster dimensions:

  • Use large, readable fonts (readable at 4 ft distance). 
  • Use posters to fit boards that are 3.5 ft X 6 ft.

Demonstration posters will be recognized during the final SBCCM session on May 30, 2026.
